Field problem abstract books
For each iteration of the course, each resource person will write an abstract about a project that they will propose to the students. From there, students are able to think about how they might try and tackle some of the questions their resource person may have posed before the course starts.
Workshops
Throughout the 2-week intensive course, students participate in a huge range of workshops from reflective writing to data analysis and design to peer mentoring and learning to give an engaging presentation.
Publications
We recently had a paper published in Ecology and Evolution on the design and evaluation of the course and how students transition from 'student' to 'scientist' over an intensive 2-weeks in the field.
We also have our own journal where students who write exceptional papers from the course can publish their work in.
